There’s nothing quite like getting together with your friends for some wacky party games. It’s a fun way to pass time and enjoy each other’s company with a bigger group of people. One of the best party games, or series of party games, around is Jackbox.

There’s a huge variety of Jackbox games out there, ranging from hilarious to thought-provoking. While most of them are genuinely fantastic, some are more enjoyable than others. Because of this, I wanted to list my personal favorite Jackbox games and see how I’d rank them against each other.

My runner-ups include Earwax, Cookie Haus, Push the Button, and Tee K.O., and they only didn’t make the actual list because of how much I enjoy the rest below.

10) Mad Verse City

Many may be surprised to see Mad Verse City make it to this list, but it’s a genuinely creative idea. Each player is a giant robot competing in rap battles. It’s got a silly idea and great artwork. It’s a comedic word game that makes the players think while also leading to laugh-out-loud moments. The reason it’s so low on the list, though, is that it does overstay its welcome quicker than other games on here. It’s still a really good time, though, especially if you like giant robots.

9) Guesspionage

Guesspionage is one of the most intriguing and thought-provoking games in Jackbox’s library. Players attempt to guess percentages of wacky facts, like the percentage of people who have gotten their shoes shined at the airport or who have a bag filled with other plastic bags at home. The closer they are, the more points they earn. It leads to some interesting facts being learned and genuinely fun conversation with your friends. I do think it needs to be updated with modern surveys, because statistics do change over time.

8) Talking Points

Talking Points is usually only great with the right people, but when you do have the right people, it’s an absolute blast. Give goofy slideshow presentations while your friends input random and wacky slides to see how off-the-rails your presentation can get. It’s especially great for lovers of improv comedy, and will have you and your group in stitches laughing at how ridiculous it all is.

7) Trivia Murder Party

It goes without saying that for the sake of this list, sequels are included as a “catch-all” so multiple entries aren’t taking up the whole list. One of the games good enough to get a sequel is none other than Trivia Murder Party. Trapped in a Saw-like horror situation, you and your friends compete in a game of trivia. The winner gets to escape while everyone else is doomed to haunt the place as ghosts forever. The mix of horror vibes and random trivia is a lot of fun. Some of the ways they kill you off for being wrong, though, are far too luck-based. Either way, if you enjoy going out for pub trivia, this is the game for you.

6) Bomb Corp.

If you prefer something to be cooperative rather than competitive, then definitely check out Bomb Corp. You and your friends work together to defuse bombs using the power of communication and thinking. It’s a fast-paced puzzle game that will have your heart racing. It’s also got an office theme, as if you’re in a company who just does this on the daily, which does add some humor to it.

5) Champ’d Up

Jackbox offers a lot of drawing-based games, and one of the most fun and unique is Champ’d Up. Players draw their fighter to match a prompt, and then another player draws their competitor without knowing that prompt. Then the other players vote for the drawing based on who they’d think should be champion of the category. It’s hilarious and the format leads to plenty of creative ideas. This is one that will create a number of in-jokes within your friend group.

4) Blather Round

Blather Round is a brilliant mix of having to use one’s brain (a little bit) and actually being extremely humorous. While only using preset vocabulary words, players must take turns attempting to describe a pop culture related prompt. It’s like charades, but with janky, nonsensical sentences instead of movements. It’s easily one of the most replayable games in Jackbox’s library.

3) Drawful

Most folks are at least somewhat familiar with party games like Cards Against Humanity or Apples to Apples. Drawful captures that formula, but adds in the element of drawing (or drawing terribly on a smart phone screen) into the mix. Laugh at the drawings, laugh at the prompts, laugh at the horrible attempts. It’s always one of the funniest games Jackbox has to offer, and is one of the most approachable, especially if you enjoy dirty humor.

2) Quiplash

Quiplash is easily the funniest and easiest to pick up and play out of any Jackbox game. Two players are given a prompt and must create a quip for it. Others vote on the funniest quip to win the round. It leads to plenty of hilarious one-liners that will live in your brain for weeks after you play. It’s a simple concept: write the funniest joke for the prompt, but it’s a really strong one. It’s endlessly fun.

1) Fibbage

Picking one Jackbox game to be my favorite is touch, but it has to be Fibbage. It’s the perfect blend of thought-provoking and funny. Players are given bizarre facts with fill-in-the-blank sections. They then create an answer to fill in that blank to hopefully trick everyone else into thinking theirs is the correct answer. The prompts themselves are so bizarre that they’re rather funny. Plus, answers can be serious, funny, or whatever the players want to make it. You can actually learn some surprising and interesting facts while trying to trick everyone else and having a blast.
