‘Avatar: Seven Havens’ Trailer Thoughts and Predictions

Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra have been called some of the greatest animated series of all time. Critics and fans love this world, the characters, and the exciting element bending. This franchise is chock full of riveting storytelling, heartfelt emotions, intense action, and memorable comedic moments.

That’s why it’s especially exciting that a third series in the Avatar saga is releasing soon, titled Avatar: Seven Havens. The folks at Paramount dropped the first trailer for the upcoming TV series, so let’s take a look at what this new show has in store.

Avatar: Seven Havens | Official Teaser | Paramount+ (SDCC 2026)

The New Avatar

Of course, the trailer introduces us to the new Avatar, Pavi. She’s the next in the cycle, and is therefore an Earthbender. She’s younger than Korra was in her show, and perhaps even younger than Aang was originally. Her being so young and forced to become so mature could make for an interesting coming of age story. She also only has one leg, having the other replaced by a wooden peg. It will be interesting to see her kicking butt, even with one leg.

Post-apocalyptic Environment

The setting of each Avatar series is unique, with this new one taking place in what looks like a post-pocalypse. This will surely offer plenty of threats and obstacles for these young characters to face. It also makes one wonder what happened. In The Legend of Korra, Republic City stood proud and provided a safe haven for all. Team Avatar, in both shows, fought to secure peace for everyone. One of the mysteries of Avatar: Seven Havens that will be fun to see answered will be what happened to this world.

Honestly, with the original series taking place during ancient times and The Legend of Korra essentially being during the industrial revolution, this may have been an excuse to have the world not feel like our modern day.

Feline Companion

Each of the Avatars who have starred in their own animated series so far have had at least one animal companion. Aang had Appa and Momo. Korra had Naga. Now, it looks like Pavi has some sort of feline companion that she can ride on. Who wouldn’t want to ride on a big cat? This is an adorable companion who is a welcome addition to the Avatar animal lineup.

The Avatar’s Lookalike

The trailer reveals that Avatar Pavi has a lookalike. Judging by the trailer and what the creators have said, she will have a long lost twin sister that she will meet and bond with. We see her Earthbending in the trailer, but will this twin also have other bending or some sort of Avatar abilities? There’s a lot of potential there.

Avatar Korra’s Legacy

A character in the trailer states that the Avatar, referring to Korra, let the world down. There’s a good chance that something she did resulted in the world being in the state that it’s now in. It also could have been a tale that got twisted as time went on. Either way, folks seem to have a sour taste in their mouths regarding the Avatar. Seeing Pavi overcome that while also uncovering what really went down with Korra should make for an excellent story.

Action

The action showcased in the trailer is incredible, and it’s safe to assume it’s only a small taste of what’s in store. The element bending and the martial arts looks as cool as ever, and now there are some unique, borderline-futuristic-looking vehicles being added to the mix. Judging from what we see here, this is going to be an exciting watch.

Vaatu Reemerges

The trailer ends with what appears to be Vaatu, the spirit of darkness and chaos, reemerging despite being defeated in The Legend of Korra. He could very well be the main villain of the series. However, with the Avatar being a twin, maybe one (the Avatar) will have the spirit of Raava within them while the other will have Vaatu. That could be an interesting dynamic. Regardless, Vaatu being teased in the trailer doesn’t spell good news for our new Avatar.
