One of the new features built into the Nintendo Switch 2 video game console is the ability to use the Joy-Con controllers. This allows for a whole new style of gameplay for a Nintendo console, and has the potential to lead to plenty of exciting experiences. Let’s explore some of the games
Mario Paint 2 and Other Art Games

Nintendo added Mario Paint to their lineup of classic SNES games on their online service. It being one of the primary games the Super Nintendo had a mouse controller makes it a perfect example of fantastic mouse-based gaming on console. It’s great to see the classic painting game make its way onto a modern console, but it would be even cooler if it finally got a sequel with more possibilities for folks to get creative. There could even be more art-based games using the mouse for drawing or painting.
Mario Maker

Mario Maker put the ability to create Mario levels in the hands of the players. Designing levels for others to play is a lot of fun, but it would be a lot smoother with the ability to use mouse controls. Instead of awkwardly using the Joy-Con buttons to click and drag elements into the level, a mouse would make it easier. The same goes for shaping the environment itself. It’s been a while since the release of Mario Maker 2, so it’s due, and mouse controls are a good way to make a new installment stand out.
Splatoon and Other Shooters

Metroid Prime 4 will offer mouse controls for aiming when shooting. The same should be done for other shooters on the Switch 2, like if a new Splatoon game is released. Pointing and clicking with a mouse makes aiming long-ranged weapons a breeze and feels more natural. Splatoon usually uses gyro controls, and that can still be the case on the Switch 2, but mouse controls open the door for players to use whichever control scheme they prefer.
Mario Golf and Other Sports Games

Drag x Drive is a wheelchair basketball game that uses mouse controls with both Joy-Con at the same time. This perfectly matches the motions of the actual sport. This can be done with other sports games as well. Imagine using the mouse controls to swing golf clubs in Mario Golf or hockey sticks in hockey games. It would be easy to control your speed in power as you aim for the highest score.
