‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Trailer Details

After 13 years, Avatar came back in a big way with Avatar: The Way of Water. Now, a third film, Avatar: Fire and Ash, is on its way. Thankfully, that means the wait isn’t nearly as long as it was between the first two movies. The trailer for Fire and Ash is here, so let’s take a look at all the details it has to offer.

Avatar: Fire and Ash | Official Trailer

New Vehicles and Wildlife

Something that the Avatar movies are known for is excellent worldbuilding. Part of what makes that worldbuilding so great are the wildlife on Pandora and the vehicles seen throughout. In this trailer, there looks to be more of both of those, including airships carried by what looks like flying jellyfish-like creatures. These creative designs add a lot of whimsy to the story.

It’s not all new inclusions, though. Returning creatures like the Tulkun from The Way of Water also look to be present in this third installment.

New Volcanic Setting

In the previous films, we’ve seen flying mountains, vibrant jungles, and a beautiful ocean-side paradise. These settings have all contributed to that impressive and immersive worldbuilding. Now, it looks like fans will get to see even more of Pandora with a new volcanic setting. Given the title of the movie, it’s safe to say this volcano and the surrounding areas will play a large role in the plot.

Jake and Neytiri Butting Heads

Jake and Neytiri have been a fantastic and supportive couple since the first movie. However, this trailer shows them mid-argument. Could there be a tear in their family? It could certainly lead to some extra conflict, not that they need it whatsoever. Hopefully they aren’t at odds for the duration of the film.

Na’vi vs. Na’vi

It looks like Quarich, the main antagonist from the first two movies, is seeking help from the Na’vi tribe who lives in the volcano biome of Pandora. Him teaming up with this fire tribe will surely spell bad news for Jake, Neytiri, and their family. It will also be exciting to potentially see some Na’vi vs. Na’vi action. It’s a cool way to make the action feel different from the previous installments.

Visuals

Of course, it wouldn’t be Avatar without insanely excellent visuals. Just from going by this trailer alone, it looks like there’s no change here. Everything looks like a visual treat, meaning it should be absolutely wonderful to see on the big screen when it releases on December 19, 2025.
