‘Twisted Metal’: Every Character Teased in the Finale and Those Who Still Need to Appear

The Twisted Metal live action TV series proved to be a surprise hit when it was released on Peacock. It was funny, action-packed, suspenseful, and heartfelt. It was also chock full of references to the original video games, and it featured a shocking amount of the games’ playable characters. Obviously, every character from the long-running video game franchise couldn’t have been crammed into just ten episodes. Because of this, there were a few who were teased during the Season 1 finale and some who have yet to be seen. Let’s take a look at which characters those are.

Teased During Season 1’s Finale

During the first season finale, we’re finally introduced to Calypso’s Twisted Metal tournament and that it’s being set up. Upon learning about it, we’re shown a tournament bracket with various photos of contestants being posted on it. The photos include Miranda Watts/Twister, Preacher/Brimstone, Amber Rose/Flower Power, and John Doe/Roadkill, with a few others being teased.

Axel

A photograph that depicts the back of Axel is posted on the tournament bracket. This is easily one of the most exciting teases for the show, as he’s appeared in almost every game in the series. He’s become a fan-favorite due to his uniquely bonkers design. He’s essentially a person strapped into two giant tires with guns on his shoulders. He’s just plain ridiculous in the most fun of ways. It’ll be a lot of fun to see how they pull this off in live action.

Mr. Grimm

Mr. Grimm is also revealed to be on the tournament bracket and is another long-time staple of the video games. In almost every iteration, he’s actually the Grim Reaper on a motorcycle, making him hands down one of the coolest characters. The photo in the series depicts him with a skull motorcycle helmet. It would be interesting to see if he ever takes that off and reveals what’s underneath…

The Return of Bloody Mary

Bloody Mary was shown to be competing in the tournament as well despite dying in a previous episode. Her being teased indicates she’ll still likely return, though. Perhaps she somehow survived being hit by Quiet’s ax. It’s also worth noting that, in the games, she’s the driver of a car called “Spectre” that launches a “Ghost Missile,” so she could come back from the afterlife for all we know. Another possibility is that Calypso, the one running the tournament, is able to bring people back from the dead for the sake of competing. If this is the case, perhaps there’s still a chance to see the likes of Pizza Boy and Drag Queen compete in their vehicles.

Dollface

Dollface is another character who was shown at the end of the season finale, but she wasn’t shown to be on the bracket like the others. Instead, we see her track down Quiet so that she can find John and reveals herself to be his sister. Dollface came a little later in the video game series than many of the recurring characters, but has been a staple since her debut. She’s the driver of a massive truck called Darkside and has become almost as big of a mascot of the series as Sweet Tooth. This masked menace is sure to bring some mayhem to the TV series.

Characters Who Still Need to Appear

Despite there being tons of characters seen throughout Season 1 and some heavy hitters teased for Season 2, there are still quite a few drivers who have yet to be seen. Here are just some of the ones who need to be included in the show.

Thumper

Thumper is an absolute classic who made their first appearance in the original game. Thumper, which has had a number of different drivers over the years, is a pink lowrider that spits fire. Its flamethrower has proven to be one of the most powerful special moves in the video game series, and it would be cool to see it brought to life in live action.

Warthog

Warthog is another classic vehicle and has been used quite a few times throughout the games. It being a military vehicle makes it quite easy to imagine in live action. It’s already clear where any weapons go. This guy wants all out war, and that’s the exact kind of carnage needed for a show like this.

Junkyard Dog

Junkyard Dog has only made a couple of video game appearances, but it would make a lot of sense to bring him into the TV show. He’s the driver of a tow truck, and that’ll surely be needed as other vehicles blast each other to smithereens. He may even compete himself and use his truck to fling objects at his opponents like he does in the games, which would be incredible to see.

No-Face/Crazy 8

No-Face, the driver of Crazy 8, is one of the more unique characters. He was a former boxer who had his face pretty messed up after losing a fight. The doctor who “fixed” him up happened to lose a lot of money betting on him and punished him by cutting out his eyes and sewing his eyelids and mouth shut. No-Face snapped when attempting his revenge and killed innocent people in the process. If the TV series needs an insane, murderous rival to Sweet Tooth, No-Face might be the best choice.

Quatro

Quarto only appears in Twisted Metal 4, but he’d be an especially fun choice to appear in the show. This is because he’s an alien from outer space who rides a hover bike. This is absolutely wild and barely fits into the world of Twisted Metal, which is what makes him such a unique and fascinating character. Calypso is a demon and may even be the Devil himself and has magic powers, so an alien shouldn’t be too out there, right? He wants to bring Sweet Tooth to justice, which would make for an entertaining onscreen rivalry.

Charlie Kane/Yellow Jacket

Charlie Kane is the driver of a taxi cab called Yellow Jacket and is one of the more interesting characters story-wise. He is a relative of Sweet Tooth. Whether he’s Sweet Tooth’s father or son depends on the game, but the TV series bringing in a living relative of the killer clown could lead to some riveting drama. Charlie’s inclusion would be worth it for Sweet Tooth’s reaction alone.

Rob Zombie

Yup, the musician and filmmaker Rob Zombie is playable in Twisted Metal 4. He even drives his Dragula car to compete. Getting a cameo from the real Rob Zombie in the show would be both epic and hilarious. Surely at least one famous person (other than Sweet Tooth) survived the apocalypse. Seeing him battle it out in Calypso’s tournament and having the other contestants recognize him would be funny and actually match the source material.
