Comic Book Crossovers That Need To Happen

It’s no secret that comic book crossovers sell well. It’s hard for readers to stay away from epic or wacky crossovers of their favorite franchises and characters. Some fun comic crossovers that have hit store shelves include Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, DC vs. Marvel Comics, Batman vs. Predator, and Mars Attacks Savage Dragon. The list goes on with seemingly no rule tying them together other than what would be the most exciting for fans and what companies want to play nice at the time.

With that in mind, the possibilities for fun comic book crossovers are never-ending. Here are just some comic book crossovers that would be especially exciting.

Power Rangers and Transformers

With Hasbro acquiring the Power Rangers property, a crossover with Transformers is a no-brainer. We’ll likely see this in the form of toys, with transforming Megazords, but a comic book of the Rangers teaming up with the Autobots to take down the Decepticons would be wildly entertaining. The Power Rangers know a thing or two about giant robots, so they should feel right at home. The Zords taking on Transformers would lead to some epic action. Maybe there could even be a transforming Megazord tie it all together.

Chew and iZombie

Chew is a comic that follows the story of an FDA agent who receives psychic impressions from what he eats, including humans. iZombie centers around a zombie woman who inherits the thoughts of those whose brains she eats. A story following a team up of these two protagonists munching on some unfortunate soul to solve some twisted case could be disgustingly entertaining. This crossover could be the mystery comic of a lifetime.

DC and Gremlins

This one may seem random, but they’re both Warner Bros. Discovery properties that would be a ton of fun to see mashed together. The Gremlins would give the Justice League a run for their money. Gremlins love messing with electronics, so just think of the damage they could do in the Bat Cave or to Cyborg. Gremlins multiply in water, which means all of Atlantis would be overrun. The Joker would surely be a fan of these menaces. This crossover would be nothing but pure mayhem, and it would be glorious.

Sonic the Hedgehog and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

With IDW publishing titles of these two icons, it’s quite shocking there hasn’t been a crossover yet. Not only do they follow the action-packed adventures of anthropomorphic talking animals, but they also feature wise-cracking teens laying the smack-down on evildoers. With Dr. Eggman teaming up with Shredder and Krang, who knows what they’d be up to? A Chaos Emerald-powered Technodrome perhaps?

The respective hero teams would be a blast to see interacting. Sonic and Leonardo taking on the blue-wearing leader roles. Tails and Donatello putting their scientific minds together could lead to some brilliant tech. Knuckles and Raphael butting heads could be rather entertaining. Perhaps they’ll even keep score over who takes out the most robots. Amy and Michaelangelo would make for a fantastic wildcard duo. TMNT has already crossed over with so many franchises, including Ghostbusters and Stranger Things, so why not Sonic the Hedgehog?

Star Wars and Marvel

Not only would this be a crossover with two of the biggest franchises ever, but Marvel creates and publishes Star Wars comics. Darth Vader’s villainous look is partially inspired by Doctor Doom, so it would be pretty cool to see them team up. Heroes and villains with incredible powers from both franchises duking it out to either save or rule all galaxies would be one of the most epic stories put to ink. Imagine what Darth Vader could be capable of with the Infinity Gauntlet or how cool it would be to see Iron Man battling TIE Fighters. This would be the ultimate fan-service in the most fun of ways.

Grim and Ghostbusters

Grim’s Jessica is a Reaper who ferries souls to their final destination. The Ghostbusters capture unruly ghosts who refuse to cross to the other side. If one of these spooky specters goes to great lengths to avoid the afterlife, Jessica teaming up with the Ghostbusters could be exactly what’s needed. The two styles differ greatly and probably won’t mesh too well, but that’s what makes crossovers fun sometimes. This one could be an eerily good time.

Godzilla and Attack on Titan

IDW has done some great things with their Godzilla comics, and it would be even better if they step it up a notch with a crossover with Attack on Titan. The Titans have become rather iconic kaiju, so it’s only natural for Godzilla to take them on. The Survey Corps would be some of Godzilla’s greatest human allies of all time. Two action-packed series coming together would likely lead to some especially awesome comic artwork.
