Star Wars is a never-ending source of fan theories. Some have created disappointment after getting people’s hopes up while others have led to some serious debates. Some have just been plain silly like Jar Jar Binks being a Sith Lord. However, there is one Star Wars theory that seems rather ridiculous, but there may be some evidence proving there is some truth to it. That theory is that C-3PO is the true chosen one and has been all along.
The prequel trilogy points out there is an ancient Jedi prophecy that states a Chosen One would bring balance to the force. This theory is that this Chosen One is C-3PO.
It’s heavily thought that a Skywalker will be the one to bring balance to the force. Many have thought this special individual could be Anakin, Luke, Leia, Rey, or Ben Solo. Each of these members of the Skywalker lineage have had moments that would prove they are the Chosen One. Anakin (as Darth Vader) defeats Darth Sidious and ends Galactic Civil War, Rey won against the powers of all of the Sith combined, Luke and Leia both played major roles in stopping the Empire, and Ben (Kylo Ren) walked the line between good and evil and thus creating balance.

However, there is someone who people often don’t think of as a Skywalker, and that’s C-3PO. He was built by Anakin, technically making him a Skywalker. If those who believe the prophecy to be about a Skywalker, why not him?
In Return of the Jedi, we see that the Ewoks worship him like a god. Maybe the reason for this is more than just his spiffy gold plating. Perhaps they could somehow sense his Force sensitivity. Yes, Luke and Leia are both Force sensitive, but maybe C-3PO is so strong with the Force that they’re able to notice it with him more than the others. If he really IS the Chosen One, his Force sensitivity would be off the charts.

He’s also one of the few characters that’s been around for just about everything that has happened. He’s been tied to countless major events and people who have had huge impacts on the rest of the galaxy. He was present when Emperor Palpatine took power, when Jyn Erso sent the Death Star plans to the Rebels, and when the Empire fell. He’s always in the right place and with the right people. The Force works in mysterious ways, and perhaps it’s the reason why he’s been able to play a part in so many historical events within the Star Wars galaxy. It guided him to people and places that needed his presence most.
He’s a Skywalker, he’s been seen as a god, and he happens to always be there whenever a major turning of the tide takes place. He’s C-3PO, and he may be the Chosen One. Perhaps this is the most laughable Star Wars theory out there, but that’s part of the fun.
