Nerdy News 1/21/21

Here’s the breakdown of the latest news in nerd culture:

Magic the Gathering Comic Book is on the Way

The popular trading card game is returning to comic books in April 2021, which is a perfect way to explore its endless lore. Published by BOOM! Studios, the comic book will be an ongoing monthly series simply titled Magic.

The upcoming comic series will take place in the realm of Ravnica, whose planet-sized city is rocked by assassination attempts against three Guildmasters: Ral Zarek, Vraska, and Kaya. The trio must put aside their differences and travel to Zendikar to hunt down these assassins. It seems as though we will experience multiple fan-favorite Planes and characters from the game, which is rather exciting for those who have played it.

The Muppet Show is Coming to Disney+

Fans of The Muppets can rejoice! All five seasons of the original The Muppet Show are finally making their way to Disney+ on February 19th. There are already a good handful of Muppets TV series and movies on the streaming service, so it’ll be nice for fans to get to readily experience the origins of Ms. Piggy, Gonzo, and the rest of the colorful cast.

It’s a bit of a surprise that the original Muppets series wasn’t on Disney+ from the start, but it’s a relief that it finally will be. Now to only wait for the rest of the Muppets content to make its way there.

Bungie to Close Halo Archives

The video game development company, Bungie, has recently announced that it will close its Halo archive in February of this year. This means that player stats, screenshots, and files from the developer’s Halo games will go away forever.

They also recently posted on social media saying that the halo.bungie.net website will be taken down permanently. This will affect the player stats and other information for Halo 2, Halo ODST, Halo 3, and Halo Reach. Players will have until February 9th to save any data they wish to. It seems this is part of their process of moving forward to work on their newer games.
