Spider-Man is easily the biggest Marvel superhero ever. Because of this, it’s always exciting when a new Spidey movie is being released. Fans have especially been looking forward to the next movie starring their favorite web-crawler after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The first teaser trailer for the next Spider-Man film, titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, was released by the folks at Marvel Studios and Sony. Let’s dive into all the details it has to offer.
SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY – Official Trailer (HD)
Peter Parker Forgotten
In this trailer, we see more of the outcome of Doctor Strange’s spell that made everyone forget about Peter Parker. He’s alone and is living a rather sad personal life. He doesn’t have any of his friends or loved ones, and hasn’t for a few years now. Spider-Man seems to be well-loved and even receives the key to the city, but Peter’s life outside of Spider-Man looks extremely glum.
What’s intriguing is that MJ and Ned clearly feel an emptiness in their lives without Peter. It makes one wonder if there’s part of them that still remembers him to some extent.
New Spidey Suit
The trailer also gives audiences a great first glimpse of the new Spidey suit. It honestly looks phenomenal. It’s not mechanized like it’s been in the last few iterations seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It has a classic hand-made design, which honestly represents Peter’s character much more.

Other Heroes
The MCU loves having other Marvel heroes appear in movies focusing on other characters, even outside of their major crossover events. That’s no different here, as we get a taste of how the likes of the Punisher and Bruce Banner will be in the film. The Punisher being at odds with Spidey with how crime should be handled looks spot-on. Bruce Banner being a college professor makes a lot of sense. What’s also interesting with Bruce is that he’s wearing some sort of power dampener on his wrist. He can likely use it to switch between Hulk and Banner at the push of a button. There’s a chance the college wouldn’t even let him work there unless he wore it, similar to Emil Blonsky’s situation in She-Hulk.
It all makes one wonder who else might show up. A lot of folks want to see Daredevil in particular, who would make sense. He’s another street-level hero who has worked with Spider-Man often in the comics. He also fights the Hand, who is in this trailer, and he has a small appearance in the last Spider-Man flick. There’s a realistic possibility that he will show up. It’s also known that Sadie Sink will be appearing in the movie, but there’s no word on who she’s actually playing.
Metamorphosis
Peter will be going through a physical metamorphosis of sorts. Part of this looks to be gaining organic webs like Tobey McGuire’s Spider-Man. Why is he undergoing these changes, and what other changes will he experience are two big questions that aren’t answered by this teaser trailer. Fans have been speculating that he may grow extra arms or become more spider-like like what happened with the “Man-Spider” storyline, which would be a lot of fun to see onscreen. Either way, it will surely be an interesting conflict for the character.
Voice Over
There is a voice over speaking over part of the trailer. This voice talks about the cycles a spider goes through during its life and how it eventually hits a point of rebirth. Obviously this reflects on what Peter is going through during the movie.
There is some debate as to whose voice that is, though. Some say that it’s the iconic actor Keith David. It does sound like his voice, and that could mean he’s playing a major character like Harry Osbourne or Dr. Connors. Others think that it’s Marvin Jones III, who has already been confirmed to be playing Tombstone in the movie. Honestly, I could see it being either one of them.

Villains
There looks to be a slew of villains appearing in the movie. The trailer shows off Scorpion, Tarantula, Boomerang, and members of the Hand. There’s also some antagonist who is able to either possess people or control them telepathically. Some have been speculating that it’s likely Sadie Sink’s mysterious character, who could be anyone from Jean Grey of the X-Men to Typhoid Mary. Only time will tell who or what is causing this mind-jumping.
On one hand, this feels like a lot of antagonists for one movie. On the other, some could only be seen in crime-fighting montages or could be working together. Either way, it will be a blast to see Spider-Man take them all on.
