Sonic Racing CrossWorlds has been taking the Sonic the Hedgehog community by storm. Many fans have been calling it one of the best racing games in the series, and even one of the best kart racing games ever.

One of the coolest elements of Sonic Racing CrossWorldsis that anyone and anything is possible due to the “CrossWorlds” crossover nature of it. Characters like Spongebob Squarepants, Pac-Man, and Hatsune Miku are already playable. It makes one wonder who else could be added to this incredible game. Below are just some of the possibilities.

Classic Sonic Characters

This is the perfect opportunity to bring in some characters from the “classic” Sonic games. Classic Sonic himself, like the one who’s playable in Sonic Generations and Sonic Forces would make for a great racer. Additionally, Fang the Sniper, Bean the Dynamite, Bark the Polar Bear, Mighty the Armadillo, and Ray the Flying Squirrel would all make fantastic additions. Including them would be a terrific way to celebrate the franchise’s 35th anniversary.

Remaining Deadly Six

There are currently two members of the Deadly Six in the game: Zavok and Zazz. Where are Zeena, Master Zik, Zor, and Zomom? They may be far from the most beloved characters in the Sonic franchise, but it’s weird to only use a third of the team. Shouldn’t it either be all or none? They’re called the Deadly SIX, afterall.

DC Comics Characters

Sonic the Hedgehog recently crossed over with the world of DC Comics. It was a terrific crossover run that even received a ton of merchandise. They should totally keep that going in Sonic Racing CrossWorlds. Characters getting their skins from the comic, like Sonic as the Flash or Amy Rose as Wonder Woman, would be really cool. Eve cooler would be actual characters. Batman in his iconic Batmobile would be simply amazing.

IDW Comics Characters

Tangle and Whisper from the Sonic IDW comics are already in the game, so why not other characters who debuted in the comic books? Dr. Starline, Surge the Tenrec, and Rough and Tumble would all be perfect candidates to further represent the amazing Sonic comic books.

Sega Video Game Characters

It’s always a ton of fun when Sega video game characters show up in Sonic racing games. It’s tradition at this point, with characters from other Sega-owned games being playable in Sonic Riders, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, and the like. NiGHTS, AiAi, and Ichiban are currently playable, but it would be awesome to see others, like Billy Hatcher, Beat, Amigo, or Gilius Thunderbeard as well. Heck, Sega now owns Angry Birds. Toss them in as well.

Shrek

This may sound ridiculous, but think about the types of characters they’ve been going for for these guest slots. With characters like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the cast of Avatar: The Last Airbender coming, a bit of a goal seems to be to find characters that are appropriate for and can excite younger audiences while also attracting older folks. With a new Shrek movie in the works, he’d be perfect for it. Plus, he’s appeared in racing games before, so it doesn’t feel like too crazy of a concept.
