Saw has become one of the longer-running horror franchises. It’s gotten up there with classics like Friday the 13th and Halloween in terms of how many installments it’s gotten. With more Saw movies, there comes more twisted traps for Jigsaw’s victims to find themselves in. While each of the “games” played throughout the film series are deadly, some would be worse than others. Check out this list to see the worst Saw traps to find yourself in.

7) The Silence Circle (Saw 3D / The Final Chapter)

The Silence Circle was an especially hard trap to see on screen without squirming. The trap has one person strapped to a chair with sharpened metal pipes ready to impale their throat, and the only way to stop it from happening is for another person to pull a fish hook out of their stomach through their mouth. The more they scream, the more the pipes advance. Even if the victim doesn’t scream, their insides are getting cut up by the fish hook. That being said, who wouldn’t scream when that’s happening to them? Capping it off with having to rely on someone else to save you, this one is rough.

6) Pound of Flesh ( Saw VI)

The Pound of Flesh is a game that Jigsaw has two people play. Whoever weighs down a scale with a certain amount of their own flesh first wins. The loser dies. Not only are you competing against the scenario Jigsaw put you in, but you’re also competing against someone else. In order to get through it, you have to mutilate yourself while watching someone else mutilate themselves as well. The winner may live, but will be missing a limb or some other body parts for the rest of their lives.

5) The Spike Trap (Saw IV) 

Two people are strapped back-to-back with long spikes going through both of them and pinning them together. The only way out is to pull the spikes out. If one does, the other dies. This is not only a trap that has you harm another person, but it has you harm yourself as well. Heck, you start off being impaled, so even if you get out, you’ll have lasting injuries. The pain from this one would be all over your torso rather in one focused spot like many other traps are. Who’s to say those spikes were sanitary enough to be shoved through your body?

4) The Freezer Room (Saw III)

Waking up naked and chained up in a freezer room would be genuinely terrible. Having a mechanism spray you with water over time would be excruciating, only adding to your torture as you slowly freeze to death. Parts of your body could break off and shatter. On top of all that, you’re completely helpless as you have to wait for someone else to save you. Between being slowly tortured and having to rely on someone else, this one is especially sadistic.

3) The Wax Trap (Spiral)

You’re tied to a table with boiling wax dripping onto your face, burning you and eventually suffocating you as it hardens. The only way out is to sever your own spinal cord. You either die a slow, horrific death, or give up using the lower half of your body the rest of your life that you live with an extremely scarred face. Severing one’s own spinal cord must be just as painful as the wax itself. This Wax Trap is particularly cruel.

2) The Brain Surgery Trap (Saw X)

The Brain Surgery Trap in Saw X is enough to make one’s skin crawl. If you don’t cut open your own skull and perform actual brain surgery on yourself, you get electrocuted to death. Brain surgery is a pretty difficult thing to do, especially if you’ve never done it before. If the trap doesn’t kill you, you could cause your own demise or at least life-long damages. Then there’s the excruciating pain that comes with it. The whole getting electrocuted thing doesn’t sound like a pleasant time either.

1) The Rack (Saw III)

The Rack from Saw III has become rather infamous, and it’s no surprise. The victim is strapped into the machine without any part of them able to move. Over time, each of their limbs is forced to rotate all the way around, essentially snapping it off. Once all of the limbs have made a full rotation, the head is next, ending the victim’s life. Until that happens, they have to endure the extreme pain. Just waiting, knowing what’s to come is horrifying on a psychological level. Plus, this is another trap that relies on someone else saving you, so there’s nothing you can do while it all happens. This one always freaks audiences out after watching the movie.
