Horizon is one of PlayStation’s most popular modern first party franchises. It’s always worth being excited when a new Horizon game is announced, and one just was. LEGO Horizon Adventures is the latest entry in the fan-favorite video game franchise, and it’s also a LEGO game.
LEGO games are known for being fun, unique cooperative multiplayer adventure games with a wacky sense of parody humor. They’re also typically surprisingly great games overall. This Horizon-LEGO hybrid game will likely be something special. Because of this, it’s worth exploring what other gaming franchises could benefit from having their very own LEGO game.
God of War

This may seem like an odd choice, but that’s kind of what makes it work. Similar to Horizon, the world of God of War is filled with intriguing mythos and lore worth exploring. The series is also filled with thought-provoking puzzles and larger-than-life action. Adapting it into the LEGO game format would make for something especially interesting.
Kratos being able to build and customize weapons to take down the gods while solving LEGO-based puzzles would lead to hours of fun. Each god he defeats would add to what types of LEGO structures he could build based on which god they were. With God of War being such a massive staple of gaming, this would be an instant success.
Portal

Yes, there was a Portal world in LEGO Dimensions, but the concept could easily be explored further with a full game. Portal is known as one of the greatest puzzle games of all time. Mixing in puzzles involving LEGO bricks could make things even more interesting. Use portals to retrieve the LEGO pieces to build something needed to escape a testing chamber. It would work shockingly well.
Plus, pairing GLaDOS’s sense of humor with the LEGO sense of humor would be something everyone would need to experience. The sassiness would be like something we’ve never seen before.
Minecraft

LEGO is all about building things and being creative. Minecraft is all about building things and being creative. They would easily go hand in hand. Mining all kinds of LEGO bricks to build whatever one’s heart desires would be a fantastic way to blend the two properties while remaining faithful to both of them.
Minecraft’s blocky artwork combined with LEGO bricks would also be a treat to see in video game form. Just be sure to watch out for any Creepers looking to blow up your LEGO buildings.
LittleBigPlanet

LittleBigPlanet is all about embracing creativity and bringing anything in one’s imagination to life. There’s an obvious place for a crossover with LEGO here. Not only would a LEGO LittleBigPlanet game be perfect for building structures and customizing your own Sack-character, but LittleBigPlanet is also all about creating levels for others to play.
It’s quite surprising that there hasn’t been a LEGO game made for players to design their own levels for others to play online. A crossover with LittleBigPlanet would be the perfect opportunity for it.
Super Mario Bros.

Super Mario Bros. is the most iconic video game franchise around. A LEGO game set in the Mushroom Kingdom would sell like hotcakes. The Mario games are all about taking advantage of clever mechanics and using power-ups. Platforming through a Minecraft-like world while using power-ups that interact with a LEGO-based environment could make for a one-of-a-kind game.
It does make one wonder, though, would Goombas and Creepers be friends?
