Spider-Man is one of the biggest names in the realm of superhero comic books. Because of this, he’s obviously become a massive name in movies as well. Spidey has made his way to the big screen more times than most other superheroes, so of course plenty of his big bads have as well. However, there are still a surprising number of his villains who haven’t made their way to the big screen quite yet. Here are just some Spider-Man villains who have somehow not been featured in a theatrically-released movie.
Black Cat

Felicia Hardy, a.k.a. Black Cat is rather unique since she walks the line of good and evil, and has been both an enemy and love interest of Spider-Man. This duality would make for a tremendous and in-depth conflict for a film. Plus, her cat-like reflexes, agility, acrobatics, and claws could make for some incredible fight choreography during action sequences.
Chameleon

The Chameleon is one of Spidey’s first bad guys, and yet he hasn’t gotten any love for all these movies. He’s a master of disguise and possesses the ability to impersonate just about anyone. He may not be quite as mainstream nowadays, but being the antagonist in a new film could put him back in the spotlight. If he somehow figures out Spider-Man’s secret identity, then there’s no one Peter could trust. It would make for a truly suspenseful story.
Mister Negative

Mister Negative was never the most well-known villain, but gained quite a bit of popularity after the release of Insomniac’s Spider-Man video game on the PS4. His negative powers give him great abilities, including mind control, and superstrength. Him and his powers looking like a photographic negative would lead to some creative visuals on the big screen. Plus, his abilities and his henchmen known as his “Inner Demons” would make for some entertaining battles. Before becoming Mister Negative, he founded F.E.A.S.T. in order to help the homeless, making him a tragic and sympathetic character. This alone should prove he’d be able to make a film’s story quite intriguing.
Big Wheel

Big Wheel is so ridiculous he’s more of a joke villain. He’s literally just a guy in a big wheel. That being said, that could be hilariously fun on the big screen. He may not be a great fit to serve as the primary antagonist of a movie, but he’d be perfect for an opening fight sequence. A movie starting with an established Spidey taking down a lunatic in a giant wheel with ease would be wildly entertaining. It could also prove to be a lighthearted beginning for a different, darker story.
Hobgoblin

Green Goblin has had his fair share of big screen appearances, so he’d be nothing new to see in a movie. Hobgoblin, however, has yet to battle Spider-Man in a film. He was made as a stand-in for Green Goblin and is extremely similar to him, but he is a different character and can lead to newer stories. Now that the MCU’s New York City was introduced to Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, it would be interesting to see someone inspired to take on a similar mantle to fight Tom Holland’s Spidey.
Silver Sable

Silver Sable may not technically be a villain, but her work as a mercenary has put her at odds with Spider-Man over the years. She leads a team of mercenaries with high-tech equipment who will go to just about any length to catch their targets. Their strict methods getting in the way of Spider-Man protecting the city could make for a unique conflict outside of the usual good vs. evil. Silver Sable is also a skilled combatant who is an expert in using just about any form of weapon, so she’s able to hold her own in a fight with the web-slinger and other heroes.
Mephisto

Mephisto did technically appear in the live action Ghost Rider films, but his true demonic comic book form and powers were never truly represented. He’s a demon that has faced off against many Marvel heroes and is one of Marvel’s most powerful villains, but he’s been used as one of Spider-Man’s most prominent enemies. He’s been responsible for Norman Osborn becoming Green Goblin and Peter’s marriage to Maryjane to come to an end. He’s perfect for superhero fight sequences as well as a very personal conflict for Spider-Man. Plus, his demonic appearance could look really cool in live action. The world needs to see Spider-Man battle Mephisto on the big screen.
